The Doylestown Collection will always hold a special place in our hearts. Not only is it named after the town where we grew up, but we also designed it as a representation of our heritage, specifically our grandparents, Lawrence and Irma Nyce. The Nyce family has a long history associated with Doylestown, PA. Our grandfather owned Nyce’s Feed Mill & Supply Yard. He sold feed for animals, coal, grain, and other farm and home supplies.
The grain-sack stripe fabrics, checks, and the patchwork side of this sham we designed in honor of him. Our “Gramfaw” was a wonderful man; hard-working, fun-loving, masculine, gentle, and kind. Our Nana was everything you could want in a grandmother; she loved to bake and cook, she took loving care of us, she sewed, gardened, and always had time for a chat. We designed the floral fabric in this collection to represent her beauty and grace. We think these fabrics work beautifully together and complement each other in the same way our grandparents did; with just the right mix of hard-working practicality and graceful femininity!
Our gorgeous Doylestown King Sham consists of a patchwork of 7″ blocks in gingham, grain-sack and ticking stripes, and solid cream squares. The fine Stitch in the Ditch & Echo Hand Quilting, combined with machine-pieced precision unite to create a gorgeous, luxurious heirloom quilted fabric. The sham reverses to a ticking stripe in blue and cream and three fabric ties ensure that keep your insert stays secure. All pieces of the Doylestown Collection go together seamlessly, creating a one-of-a-kind designer style. 100% cotton.
